Skincare is something I’m passionate about, but it’s not just a hobby like most passions often are, it’s a lifestyle. Looking after my skin comes naturally to me now, but it hasn’t always. There have been times where it’s been tough, I couldn’t be bothered to take it all seriously or I just forgot.

But those days are long gone. I started to make it much more of a priority and for a very good reason. Skincare starts to get important at some time or another. I once read that you’re better to be ready and slow down those signs, that let them set in and be pretty much stuck (or only have drastic options).

We all know prevention is better than cure. So I’ve stuck to that for quite some time now.

But that doesn’t mean I’m stuck in my ways. I do enjoy trying new things, exploring new research, and giving products a go so, as you can imagine when I hear of something new, I instantly want to try it.

Call it the magpie instinct.

Clay has been on that list for a while and now I think I’ve finally found the right product to try it out with – Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay.

The Low Down

Woman's face in black and white

As always, I’ve done my research before I even made the order. I have been known to research a product for days, even weeks, only to decide it might not be for me. Given my must-have tendencies, you’re probably wondering how that can be possible. But even I can realize that maybe something just wasn’t meant for my skincare collection.

Thankfully for me, my collection, and now you, because that’s why you’re here, isn’t it, that wasn’t the case this time.

But I did learn something I loved. Clay isn’t a new skincare thing [1]. It’s actually quite old. Those in the know have been using clay-based skincare for a really long time. It has refreshing and restorative properties when applied as a mask – two things that are pretty much my favorites of all time.

You’ve probably heard of spas offering clay baths, wraps, or even massages for the body – and they do. It’s great for cleaning, clearing and really bringing life back into the skin. I couldn’t be more thankful for something to try for my face too.

I’m really putting a lot on this one, aren’t I? Dull skin, be gone!

What Benefits Can You Expect?

You probably have already heard about the benefits of this product in Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay reviews. If you haven’t, let us tell you all about it! The mask is made from calcium bentonite clay. This is an all-natural powder that has been utilized for centuries. There are many facial masks that only focus on clearing acne. However, the safe and easy-to-use Aztec clay has many other uses and benefits.

The clay’s most common purpose is to treat the skin, especially acne-prone skin. The bentonite powder mixed with apple cider vinegar or water creates a clay mask. When applied to your skin, this mask clears your acne. It also decreases oil production to prevent future breakouts.

As if this wasn’t enough, it also disinfects your pores, dries and removes blemishes, and reduces the appearance of scars. These benefits may seem like a selling tool. However, there is actual scientific proof to support these claims. Because of its ionic pull, the natural bentonite lures out those positive-charged toxins [2].

In other words, the clay is able to pull dirt particles from your skin and cleanse it. Not only that, but its pH of 9.7 allows it to draw blood flow toward your face to energize your body. The mask also has been found to treat and soothe cuts and bruises. In addition, it can heal skin conditions, such as rashes and bug bites.

Benefits Beyond Beautiful Skin

Most Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay reviews will tell you that this mask also provides relaxing benefits. To gain these benefits, simply add drops of lavender oil to the clay mixture. When you apply it, the mask will help reduce stress and headaches. This makes it easier for you to relax. So, the next time you want to unwind after a long day, take a hot bath and apply this mask. You’ll be happy you did!

Moreover, this healing clay also has proved to be beneficial for hair. When you apply the mask to your hair, the clay will moisturize and hydrate it. At the same time, it will soften and tame frizzy hair.

Maybe the greatest part of this amazing clay is how affordable it is. Two-pound containers are available for less than $15. A container of this size will last you several months. This non-oily product is free of fragrances, additives, or animal products. All around, it is completely natural and healthy.

Browsing through Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay reviews will give you a better understanding of how this product works and if it’s right for you!

How It Works

I guess you’re expecting this to be quite complex, but as skincare goes, it’s really quite simple. It definitely made me feel so much more excited about trying it all.

The minerals found in the clay get to work on the skin. There is pretty much every mineral found on earth in it – including volcanic ash. Now, this does sound quite intense, but isn’t it also exciting? It sure is to me.

Based on the way that our skin foundation works and that of the clay, they work together perfectly – because they’re opposites. This means when the clay is on the skin, it starts to lift dead cells and bacteria – thus giving it its cleansing properties.

Now this, sounds like something I can get on board with.

How Do I Use It?

Woman applying a beauty product on her legs

Now, this part is also something I find fun. With most skincare products, you expect to open the lid and off you go. Not with Aztec Secret. Usually, I would find that frustrating, but this time, I kind of enjoyed it.

I felt like a botanist and that I was actually involved in the making of the product and my skincare wellness.

Before you apply, in a glass, the clay needs to be mixed with either apple cider or water. Then, you’ll need to stir the mixture so that it has the consistency of a paste – but you can add more of either if need be.

The bit I like the most is the application – which I know sounds obvious, but for me, it’s the best bit. So many brands suggest using the products sparingly, but not Aztec Secret. With the Indian Healing Clay, you get to layer it on thick. They suggested 1/4 of an inch, so that’s what I went with. Then, you just let it dry. It can take 5-20 minutes and I think for me, it’s been somewhere in between.

When washing it off, it’s worth noting that your skin may be a little red but that’s normal. It is a deep clean after all, so your pores may be a little sore. But it’s all definitely worth it.

And The Results?

Are good. VERY good. I knew they would be (or hoped, should I say), but I was even surprised by how good they really were.

My skin felt amazing whilst the mask was on and directly after. You can really feel that it worked. Because my skin is prone to breakouts, I’m always on the lookout for a deep clean that isn’t too harsh on my skin. For some reason, I can be quite sensitive too.

So, after just a few uses, I was sold. I’d say I’ve been using the mask around once or twice a week. In total, I’ve probably used it around 4-5 times now and there is still so much left to use of the product. It’s definitely great value for money.

I personally didn’t find any irritation at all whilst using the product and it really did get to work on my breakouts. Whatever bacteria was present in the skin has definitely been removed.

I don’t think I can praise this product anymore. It’s safe to say, the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay will be a firm favorite in my beauty routine – it gets a firm 5 out of a 5 for me.
