If there was one thing that I can guarantee is never said about acne, is that it’s great. Horrific? Maybe. Soul-destroying? Probably. Frustrating? For sure.

But never, ever would anyone who has experienced this skin condition call it great.

It’s a well-known fact that those suffering from acne often feel lost and self-conscious. Not only that, but the blemishes on their face can cause serious pain and physical discomfort. And while there isn’t always a quick and cheap cure, there’s always hope.

After months – maybe even years – of trying to find a solution, hope begins to fade.

Eventually, the constant cycle of trial and error begins to wear on a person. They begin to give up finding a traditional option and begin to consider taking drastic measures. People often look into intense chemical peels and lasering. There are also many other extremely controversial treatments that work, but have crazy side effects.

Can you blame someone for considering those steps when all they want is to be pain and acne free?

However, thanks to the astronomical cost of said chemical peels and lazering options, it often feels like acne sufferers are left trialling products that are probably not going to do anything special. The constant failures result in wallowing and self-pity after the results confirm that you’ve tried yet another dud.

It’s sad, but true.

I highlight this reality because this is exactly how I’ve felt for what feels like an eternity now. I’ve tried all of the popular products, given extremely long, complicated skincare routines a try, changed my diet and daily routines [1], and still, after all of that, no improvements. Not a one.

The closest I’ve ever come to an acne solution is a chemical peel. While chemical peels certainly work, they don’t seem to last long with me. Soon enough, my hormones and sebum production gets the better of me and acne strikes once again.

With this in mind, I’ve been dreaming of a product line that will help combat that and keep my skin in check. Yes, dreaming – only acne sufferers will know how serious I am about this statement.

You can imagine how excited I was to stumble across the Zenmed Skin Eraser. This product kit combines the theories behind chemical peels and other science-based, acne treatment techniques.

I’ve put together a complete Zenmed Skin Eraser review to introduce you to my new favorite acne solution. Scroll down for more details about the product, how to use it, and my experience finally seeing an improvement in my face.

What exactly is this product?

Zenmed Skin Eraser

Effectively it’s an exfoliator and serum. It breaks up dead and damaged skin cells while encouraging healthy growth in the ones remaining. This powerful combination attacks your acne from both sides – an extremely effective technique against this worthy, challenging skin condition opponent.

The Zenmed Skin Eraser actually comes in a kit containing two products.

The first is the Renewing Microdermabrasion Complex, followed by the Skin Eraser – which is the serum. The Microdermabrasian Complex is basically a tool to give yourself a facial at home. It’s a powerful exfoliator that unblocks your clogged pores and prevents them from becoming inflamed or breaking out. The Skin Eraser acts as a moisturizer that is chock full of everything necessary for your skin to remain healthy and balanced. When used together, the Zenmed Skin Eraser treatment acts to peel away damaged skin and encourage the skin that is left behind to flourish.

How does it work?

The primary active ingredient of this skincare system is Glycolic Acid. Scientifically speaking, the use of Glycolic Acid works to exfoliate the top layers of the skin way quicker than they can do on their own, naturally [2]. This means that all of the dead cells and environmental debris that we encounter on a daily basis are carried away before they can cause acne.

I don’t know about you, but hearing this instantly sells me. It seems like my skin takes forever to renew and repair itself, so I’m always keen to trial new things to boost it a little. Additionally, it makes sense that skin that suffers from chronic acne needs a strong kick in the pants to create a new, more balanced level of normal.

When the skin starts to heal itself from the inside out, the upper skin layers look better. Basically, those imperfections that you’re so worried about start to disappear. Eventually, the skin appears brighter, smoother and even – a complete and utter dream to an acne sufferer.

The most important part of any new effective acne treatment program is consistency. Even the most powerful products and well-researched kits cannot help you if you don’t use them regularly. Commit to following the directions as perfectly as you can to ensure you’ll see an improvement.

And what do they recommend?

The directions that come with the Zenmed Skin Eraser kit is definitely detailed. Though it’s an extreme level of information, this thoroughness initially reassures me. It shows that the company is truly invested in your success with the system. I’ve tried a whole load of products that promise the world but don’t actually let on all that much about themselves, how it works, and what to expect. Zenmed is the complete opposite!

Don’t let the complicated, lengthy instructions intimidate you. It might seem like a lot at first, but you’ll come to appreciate it. Plus, it gets easier as you go along. You’ll forget your initial concerns after a few weeks of use.

My research tells me that the kit is best used in combination with their skin protecting lotion. Some people might read this suggestion as the company trying to sell you more. However, I try to take a more positive perspective on the situation. I always like to try whatever the company suggests at first, because I like to be the judge. Looking more into this recommendation, it appears that the reason it’s strongly encouraged is because the skin gets a little sensitive to UV rays with the treatment.

It makes sense that your skin would need some extra love and protection while undergoing an intense treatment regimen [3]. You shouldn’t be surprised by this because when using a treatment that encourages the skin to break down in order to heal itself, it’s going to feel a little weak, now isn’t it!

The company also provides great advice on how to use the products. I’ve seen a few reviews on how people do it and I have to say that is makes sense. If you read the directions and feel unsure, watch a few videos online to get the gist of it.

The most helpful I found was in regards to the Skin Eraser Serum. So, with the serum, for the first five days, its best to wash it off rather than let it soak into this skin. This is because it can be a little tough on the skin. It might be great for acne scarring, uneven skin tone, dullness, and lines, but it can still be a little rough to use.

And how did it work for you?

Before I jump into sharing my personal experiences trying this acne treatment system, I think it’s important for me to talk about my skin type – just so that you can compare my findings with what you might expect. I have combination skin that is acne prone. I say combination as, although my skin is generally very oily, I have times where dry patches drive me crazy. It’s like I can never win. I’ve always suffered with acne and find it gets worse with my hormones – despite trying to change my lifestyle to help it all out.

So, take these results with a grain of salt. If you have hormone enhanced breakouts and combination skin, you’re pretty safe to expect a similar experience. Never forget that even the best products are not the most perfect choice for everyone.

Now, onto the actual product and process itself.

As I mentioned, I followed the exact guidelines to use the Zenmed Skin Eraser. So, I started by using the Renewing MicroDermabrasion Complex at night. Each night, I would was my face using my regular cleansers. The specific one did vary, depending on what I’m trying at the time. After that, I would then rub this lotion into my face and neck, in small sections at a time.

As described in the directions, I only used it once a day and always in the evenings. The Zenmed Skin Eraser kit says to use it for 5 days, then skip it or 5 days and then continue to use it 2 or 3 times a week.

So I have done exactly that and it has now been somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks since my trial began. During the break, my skin got into its regenerative state and it felt great! Ironic huh, how I’m using the word great after starting the article off in the way I did.

After applying the Renewing MicroDermabrasion Complex, I follow up with the Skin Eraser. I only use it in my blemish prone areas. I also work to avoid those dry spots. This helps to make sure it gets to work on the right stuff and doesn’t create any new problems. For the first week I left if on for a minute or 2 and washed it right off. Now, I leave it on overnight as my skin is used to it.

Finally, I use their SPF lotion because I find it works for me, its light and keeps my skin moisturized.

Final Thoughts

After almost a month and a half of using this system, my skin definitely feels lighter, brighter and renewed – there’s nothing else to it. I finally feel like I’ve found a few step, simple skincare system that knows what it’s doing.

It’s not for the light-hearted of course as its quite technical, but it works. Once you’ve done it for awhile and gotten the hang of the process, it becomes quite easy. Despite the initial learning curve, anyone can use this with patience and a bit of effort.

This has to get a 5 out of 5 for me! I’ve already re-bought the whole Zenmed Skin Eraser kit and lotion from them to continue using this as my primary acne-treatment system!
